Lent: first Sunday

Reflect on our reality

On this first Sunday of Lent, we are invited to reflect on Jesus in the desert. He was aware of who he was and why he had come. The cunning demon knows Jesus and tempts him, but did not win him over and for us, in this present time, we know that the desert can put us in silence and can make us reflect on our reality of who we are.

We live in an oppressive circumstances that lead us to become “zombies”, slaves of a cybernetic world, which is increasingly sucking us into a fictitious and useless world. And in this way, we become more and more an easy prey of the evil one and all his seductions.

On this Lenten season, it is necessary to shake our conscience by asking, if are we willing to go with Jesus into the existential desert of our lives? Let us allow ourselves therefore to be led by his Spirit and by listening to his Word, to take the path we have lost: let us leave behind the ways of deception into which we are often to fall, so that, we’ll be truly holy as God is holy. (Cf.: Mt 5, 48)
